About
Unique Selling Proposition
Making coffee a habit, one cafe at a time! A few years ago, Rohit ordered a cup of coffee in a café in San Diego and was surprised to taste guava. “That was a turning point,” recalls Rohit, who was so smitten that he quit his job and moved back to India in 2015 to enter the coffee industry. In September 2016, Rohit and co-founders Anirudh Sharma and Sushant Goel opened their first café in Bengaluru. They were helped by veterans like Sunalini Menon, India’s first professional coffee cupper, and their geographical location granted them easy access to coffee estates in the south. Last year, they opened their second farm in Pune and this year they’re hoping to set up Co-operative farms in Kerala and Hyderabad.
OUR STORY
We are a group of coffee growers working together in the Mogonga Farmers’ Cooperative ltd. We are located in the municipality of Banglore, Karnataka, India. Our lands are suitable for the production of an aromatic coffee bean whose cup has been recognized for its quality. This productive region is called the Ooty due to its location surrounded by the Western Ghats, which have also contributed unique characteristics to our soils. Mogonga Farmers’ Cooperative ltd is reborn in 2016; currently has 26 active members who dedicate a large part of their lives to continue the tradition of growing coffee using both ancestral practices and modern techniques to be current in the current market, being ecologically and socially responsible. We mainly grow Bourbon, Caturra, and Catuaí varieties. Together we produce an annual average of 1,800 quintals of parchment coffee (1,150 quintals of gold coffee), using wet milling and sun drying processes. Our offer is made up of batches that are the result of the qualitative mix of all our producers, and we also work micro batches of selected varieties whose cup characteristics obtain SCA 85.5+ scores. In essence, we are a coffee organization with the mission of producing quality to make Indian coffee known to different regions and captivate the palate of those who enjoy a good cup of it.
